The company, owned by the Codelli family from the early 1700s, consists of 50 hectares, with 20% of wooded area with locust and beech trees. The main part of the property, 30 hectares, extends along the hilly area that includes the Vallisella hills visible, for those coming from Udine, to the left of the state road. About 13 hectares are vineyards.
Giovanni Cobenzl is credited with the construction of the new castle which looks like a graceful villa at the foot of the Vallisella hill: the current Palazzo Codelli. The palace has lost its original appearance through the adaptations and renovations that it had to undergo over the almost four centuries of its history. The Cobenzl’s were succeeded by the Codelli as owners and jurists of Mossa and San Lorenzo, when Agostino Codelli earned the title of baron with the predicate of Fahnenefeld–Sterngreif. He had been the main supporter and architect of the archdiocese of Gorizia to which he donated the palace of the Curia and a contribution of about a hundred thousand florins, entitling him to the hereditary appointment of the provost of the chapter and the parish priest of Mossa.

A rather rustic tower, built with raw materials, rises at a certain distance south of the building, as if to protect it from any threat coming from the road. The chapel adjacent to Palazzo Codelli in Vallisella is dedicated to S. Maria Assunta.
Inside is home to an altar of typical eighteenth-century workmanship with an Eternal Father overlooking the world and the left wall hosts a painting of the early 1800s, by Barzellini, depicting the miraculous painting of the Madonna di Monte Santo, supported by angels.
