If you loved Salvatores’s film \u201cCome Dio comanda\u201d shot in Pordenone and Montereale Valcellina, it is impossible not to choose a typical appetizer from the Pordenone area: pitina, a salami of peasant origins born from the need to preserve meat during the long winter months. After the appetizer, comes the first course: the Cjarsons, a Carnic dish whose origins date back to the Middle Ages. Cjarsons are ravioli prepared with a dough made of water, salt and flour with a filling of various herbs; you can taste them in Sauris, the location of the film \u201cParadise\u201d and in Venzone, where Inspector Montalbano passed through for the episode \u201cThe other end of the thread\u201d. Venzone, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, offers a wide range of recipes for pumpkin side dishes. A typically Friulian main course is mus\u00e8t e brovade (cotechino served with turnips macerated in marc) which can be tasted by visiting Udine, one of the locations of the film \u201cApnea\u201d. If you love bread with an intense flavour, you must absolutely try the pan de sorc, a specialty from Gemona del Friuli, another location in Roberto Dordit’s film. Accompany your traveller’s meal by quenching your thirst with Sauris\u2019 local beer or a wine from the Gorizia Collio area, set of the TV series \u201cVolevo fare la Rockstar\u201d. Finish off with the typical gubana from Cividale for dessert. And coffee? Head to Trieste following in the footsteps of “La porta rossa” and try the typical Capo in B.
