Sauris je med najbolj o\u010darljivimi vasicami v Furlaniji Julijski krajini, bogat tako v kulturnem kot v naravoslovnem pogledu. V lokalnem nare\u010dju mu pravijo Zahre<\/em>, saj tukaj \u0161e danes govorijo germanski jezik ju\u017ene bavarske skupine. Vasico lahko opi\u0161emo kot otok sredi gora, saj je bil Sauris, ki le\u017ei 1200 metrov nad morjem, do petdesetih let te\u017eko dosegljiv in je v zimskih mesecih ostajal odrezan od sveta. Zaradi teh okoli\u0161\u010din ni bilo lahko vzpostaviti mre\u017ee lokalne proizvodnje, a je doma\u010dinom uspelo zaradi njihovih izku\u0161enj in vztrajnosti, tako da da danes proizvajajo edinstvene in \u017elahtne izdelke.
