The web site was made thanks to a contribution of the Autonomous Region Friuli Venezia Giulia. The first project to have an interactive mapping of the film sets of FVG was made in 2009 by Matteo Caenazzo in collaboration with the FVG Film Commission. The map, published in 2011 as part of his essay – I set cinematografici nell’esempio della FVG Film Commission (EUT Edizioni Università di Trieste).

In 2016, thanks to a partnership between Studio Sandrinelli and Casa del Cinema within the ambit of the first edition of the “Esterno/Giorno” project, financed by the Province of Trieste, the special “Esterno/Giorno” itinerary was created inside the App FVG Film Locations and includes a selection of films shot in the province of Trieste. Thanks to the financial support mentioned above, these contents have been translated into Slovene and are still available on this web portal. The following partners participated in this project:
