Imagine a valley that is not too narrow, lying between mountains covered with dense forests, a gateway to the North of Europe, the lowest pass in the Alps.
Here, in the 12th century, Bamborget, little Bamberg, was established and in around 1400 the building that would become Casa Oberrichter was built, at the time the home of important personalities linked to the principality.
In around 1700 Valcanale became part of the AUSTRO-HUNGARIAN EMPIRE, Bamborget became MALBORGETH, city of the hammer, and the House, restored in line with the Habsburg fashion became the seat of the Court, hence Casa Oberrichter (the Chief Justice’s House).

For just over 100 years, Casa Oberrichter meant order and justice in Valcanale; it was then returned to its former owners who brought it back to its role as an elegant residence. At the end of the First World War, in a short time Casa Oberrichter lost its inhabitants and its beauty.
In the darkest moment for the big house, a family of crazy artists arrived, each with their own peculiarities: a carpenter-all-rounder-ski instructor, an artist-architect, a singer who loves traditional cuisine, a talented illustrator-writer. In a short time, the building returned to its former glory, home to a charming hotel and laboratories for all these activities.

There are painting courses with ricotta and pigments in “Beato Angelico” style, live concerts, exhibitions, etc., as well as of course a restaurant inspired by the place, and relaxation rooms, all in natural wood.
