“On the ways of Victory” on AdessoCinema

On “AdessoCinema” the documentary “Sulle vie della Vittoria” is available! The streaming platform, curated by Cinemazero, Visionario and the Cineteca del Friuli, allows free viewing of the film.

The documentary traces the visit of the King of Italy Vittorio Emanuele III, Queen Elena and their daughter Jolanda to the “holy places” of the Great War. The royals traveled to Trieste, Monfalcone, Gorizia, Redipuglia, Mount San Michele, Postumia, Pula, Mali Lošinj and Zadar between May 21 and 25 100 years ago.

Collector Armando Giuffrida made a gift to the Cineteca del Friuli of a vintage copy of the film, and the Cineteca immediately made a new copy on a security medium.

After the war, the annexation of the multilingual and multi-ethnic New Provinces to the Kingdom of Italy was anything but painless and marked the de facto erasure of collective history and experience in the face of the massive intervention of the Italian state, which proposed a highly centralized and militaristic model.

The work, published in 2010, has also been preserved digitally, and for the latest, digitally corrected version, musician Mauro Colombis has created a new accompaniment.
