New cycling mobility plan in FVG

The bike map of the region was presented in Udine by the councilor for Infrastructures and Territory Graziano Pizzimenti; a network of 1300 km, 600 of which already available. Friuli Venezia Giulia strongly believes in the use of bicycles, not only for tourism and sports purposes, but also as a daily transport to reduce the use of cars and to solve home to school/work issues.

“No other Region” explains the councilor “has a similar programming tool in hand”.

The identified routes are ten: Alpe Adria, Adriatic Sea, Pedemontana and Collio, Pianura and Natisone, Isonzo, Tagliamento, Livenza, Carnic mountains, Pordenone, Noncello-Sea.

Creating an internal network and also developing connections with other regions and with neighboring countries is the main aim. But also taking advantage of the services already active from Lignano to Marano, from Grado to Trieste, of transporting bicycles on trains, buses and motorboats.

Next step will be receiving the definitive approval of the Plan, through various meetings on the territory with local administrations, in order to evaluate also new routes.
