The Girl by the Lake

Anna, a student and hockey player, is found dead by the shore of Lake Fusine. The mysterious murder is investigated by Commissioner Giovanni Sanzio, a family man with problems and personal tragedies. Little by little, the circle narrows and Sanzio reveals the mystery that surrounds the small mountain community. The film marks the encounter between cinema and landscape and environmental beauty. Unlike other films shot in the region, in this, the Friulian environment is clearly indicated. Standing out among the locations are the Fusine Lakes, one of the most beautiful places of the Julian Alps, which annually attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors, dominated by the imposing and majestic mountains of Mangart, Moggio Udinese, the village located in the Canal del Ferro at the entrance of Val Aupa and city views of Udine. The film is based on the novel ‘The Eyes of a Stranger’ by Karin Fossum.
